All about your lash appointment
Are you excited to get lash extensions but not sure what to expect or how to prepare? Don't worry, we've got you covered!
Before the appointment:
Avoid wearing makeup or creams around your eyes on the day of the appointment. This will help the lash adhere better to your natural lashes, helping to prevent premature shedding.
Remove contacts, if you wear them, and bring your glasses to the appointment. You'll need to keep your eyes closed for the duration of the procedure, so contacts can be uncomfortable.
Come to the appointment with clean, dry lashes. It's best to avoid showering or getting your lashes wet for at least 24 hours after the appointment, as this can make the bond weak and more prone to shedding. At iTrend Beauty Bar we use an instant drying solution that allows you to shower, however it is still best to avoid wetting them.
Avoid caffeine or alcohol before the appointment, as these can cause you to feel jittery or dehydrated.
Communicate with your lash artist about any allergies or sensitivities you have. This is especially important if you have sensitive skin or eyes, or if you've had any reactions to lash extensions in the past.
If you are considering a particular style or look, bring pictures for reference. This will help the lash artist understand your vision and give you the look you desire.
During the appointment:
Be prepared to lie down for about two hours while the extensions are applied. Lash fills are 1 hour. It's a good idea to bring your headphones so you can pass the time. Some of our clients use this time for a nap.
The lash artist will begin by separating and isolating your natural lashes with a special tool. This helps them apply the extensions without getting them mixed up with your natural lashes.
The extensions will then be applied one by one to your natural lashes using a special glue. The glue used is specially formulated for use on the eyes and is generally safe, but if you have any allergies or sensitivities, be sure to let the lash artist know.
The entire process is generally painless, but some people may experience a little discomfort or sensitivity. If this happens, let the lash artist know and they will adjust the process to make you more comfortable.
Once the extensions are applied, the lash artist will check to make sure they are evenly distributed and that you are happy with the look.
After the appointment:
Follow the aftercare instructions provided by your lash artist to ensure the best results and longevity of your lash extensions. This may include avoiding water or steam on your lashes for a certain period of time, using a special brush to comb through the lashes, and avoiding certain products or activities.
If you experience any irritation or discomfort after the appointment, be sure to contact the lash artist or your healthcare provider for guidance.
Overall, getting lash extensions is a fun and easy way to enhance your natural beauty. By following these tips and being prepared, you can have a relaxing and enjoyable experience that leaves you feeling fabulous!
